Talk about being out of element, Valentine French has grown tired of the New York dating scene and when her cousin suggests a new locale she travels to Alaska to find her guy. Bringing her whole arsenal of things. Think Carrie Bradshaw in the wilderness. Only she's out of her depth and knows it but she's optimistic in exploring a new dating scene.

Valentine is pretty much my total opposite in all aspects except her anti high society part. Which is ironic since she is total city girl and a high maintenance one at that. She may not be the type of person I'd hang with but she has heart. Logan moved to the outskirts to be more solitary. He enjoys his job and life, settled where he is. As a cop helping others he does it well when he he comes to Valentine's rescue. Definitely different from all the metrosexuals and a more solid guy. Clearly these two are opposites.

This started slow for me but picked up halfway. I wasn't a fan of Valentine's being judgy through her blog the way she acted around town. I felt like there would be a proper way to do without disclosing everything and being snippy with her words. I've seen articles with snark to make it more readable and gain audience but these are actual people who are nice. I would be upset to to find out about it especially if I was the guy she was seeing. That said they did have their moments together I liked.

Alaska is not the typical setting but has appeal for me anyway. That was an upside for me. The premise behind was cute and charming but I grew tired after a few blog entries. It's probably just the heroine that bugged me the most. A pretty ok start to new series by Sawyer Bennett it had cute and good moments. With quite interesting secondary characters and entertaining times in between.

Sex in the Sticks is the first book in Sawyer Bennett's new Love Hurts series and what a fantastic start it is!

New York socialite and trust fund baby Valentine French is growing tired of her life. For the past several years she has operated and written a blog about sex and dating advice, much to the chagrin of her family, and she's at her wits end with the metrosexual men she's been dating. She wants a manly man, but she isn't sure how to go about that in New York City. When she tells her cousin and best friend, Jeremy, about her wishes, he suggests that she take a trip to where the men significantly outnumber the women and since she can work from anywhere. She likes the idea and asks where he suggests and it's the last place she would have ever expected - Alaska! So with her Louis Vuitton suitcases and her dog, Sassy, she sets off for the great northwest.

When Val arrives in Alaska, she's in for a rude awakening from the minute she steps outside the airport. There isn't the plethora of taxi's she's used to, but lucky for her, the East Merritt chief of police, Logan Burke happens to be in town and offers to give her a ride to the bed and breakfast where she's staying. Val is buoyed by the idea that if all of the men in East Merritt are as hunky as Logan, she's going to be able to write blogs for an undetermined amount of time.

There is chemistry between Logan and Val from the first time they meet. As they spend more time together, and he rescues her from a few more situations due to her lack of knowledge about living in the sticks, their connection grows. Will Val ever feel comfortable in a place so different from New York City? And, will her social experiment end up biting her in the end?

This book was filled with humor, heat and plenty of emotion. This was a very different setting from most of the books I've read, but I absolutely loved it! Not only did I learn that Alaska is beautiful, I learned all sorts of things about the way of living there. Sawyer Bennett did a fantastic job giving us a glimpse into what life in Alaska would be like and let me tell you, I can't wait to go back for the next book in this series!
After reading Sex In The Sticks by Sawyer Bennett, I'm ready to pack my bags and head to Alaska, the last frontier in America. I'm willing to wrestle bears, eat wild game, fish in cold waters to be around real men by the dozens. So what if I freeze my rear end off and don't have internet. There's plenty of entertainment. Smoking hot men. Did I say men by the dozens? Some sacrifices are worth the effort.

In Sawyer Bennett's latest release, Sex In The Sticks, the reader gets to experience wilds of Alaska seen through the eyes of a rich New York socialite. Unlike other stories with this kind of theme, Sawyer added her own special flare and created a unique set of circumstances in the plot. She gave the story a character larger than life. She gave the readers Valentine French. A woman to be admired because of everything she is rather than everything she should be. When it comes to Valentine French, expect the unexpected.

Valentine French was tired of dating the metrosexual men in New York City. They are a dime a dozen. There is nothing extraordinary about them. In fact they are extremely ordinary, predictable, and self absorbed. She's looking for the kind of man that can be orgasm inducing just by being who he is. She's not looking for love or happily ever after, she's happy and completely comfortable with the life she has built for herself. She's intensely curious if there are men out there that are different from the norm. When her cousin suggest a trip to the wilds of Alaska, where men are abundant, Valentine is ready for a new adventure. She's going to conduct a social experiment for her blog, Valentine's Couch,to find out if the untamed men of Alaska are better than the polished men of New York City.

The moment she steps foot in Alaska she quickly realizes she has stepped in unchartered waters. Rather than tucking tail and running, she embraces everything the wilds of Alaska has to offer. One of those things is the men. One man in particular stands out among the pack, Sherriff Logan Burke. By the time Valentine's sexual adventure comes to an end, she will know what a true orgasm inducing man is. Along the way she may get lost in the woods, her dog may almost become bear food, she will have to trade her Prada shoes for sturdy hiking boots, she may get thrown in jail, and compete in the Wild Wilderness Woman contest. Bring it on, Valentine is ready to take it on. What she wasn't ready for was finding love with a real man. A man who gives his whole heart not only while inducing orgasms but also at every moment of the day. Can she handle it? I want to be Valentine French. I loved everything about this extraordinary woman. Sawyer created a heroine worthy of admiration. Her hero isn't too shabby either, after all he is orgasm inducing.
